Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA)

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a process for bringing adults–called “inquirers”– into the Catholic Church. Inquirers include those who are not baptized (catechumens) as well as those who have been baptized in another Christian denomination (candidates). At St. Ann’s it also includes those who were baptized Catholic as children but were not catechized and did not receive the sacraments of First Eucharist and/or Confirmation. The process begins in September and concludes at the Easter Vigil when catechumens and candidates are fully initiated into the Church.

Activity: Meet with a group of like-minded folks under supervision of Catholic clergy and laity, from after Labor Day until Easter to discuss the teachings of the Church and the possibility of entering the Church.

Volunteers: Interested adults not yet baptized or baptized in a non-Catholic church and adult sponsors

Time Commitment Weekly or bi-weekly evening meetings.
